BLOODY WEATHER

Red Admiral

Out fungus spotting on the heath this morning (I’m lucky enough to live on the edge of a SSSI) when I spotted this Red Admiral. In the garden, the nasturtium is flowering and giving a fresh crop of leaves, the parsley patch is giving off a crop faster than we can use it and I’m still harvesting courgettes. All very nice so late in the year, but it’ll end in tears one year soon, believe me.

I’m still waiting for a frost so I can gather in rosehips and rowan berries – might be waiting until February at this rate.

  1. Not just our nasturtiums then… mind you they come from the Andes, so they must be stronger than they look.
