This story on the Fortean Times site complements the time back in the ’80s when it was discovered that otters had returned to a river (or possibly the Chesterfield Canal) in North Nottinghamshire for the first time in over a century, about 15 miles from here – after a dead otter was found in the gutter of the A60.
I’m not one to engender or condone animal suffering, but there is definitely something Pythonesque about these events.
